We naturally draw on past life experiences, which explains why we only touch a hot stove once! When we have the right values, we maximize our leadership skills. My parents were a source of my values. The Army values codified were codified in my leadership journey. These values of Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity, and Personal Courage are taught at Basic Training and then lived every day in everything a Soldier does, whether they are on the job or not.
