The visionary and the idealist are the foundations of leadership. No one wants to follow a “so-called” leader that lacks a vision for the future and is not an idealist with values, beliefs, and ethics. On the other hand, on the day-to-day level, the visionary must demonstrate practicality and realism through common sense connections. Something of a balancing act, but great leaders do it. It is not sleight of hand; it is expertise.
